Looks like you have a good solid start there. For most use you can't go wrong with a 318. While I do prefer the 360 for trailer towing, my current 318s work fine, towing a 20 foot car trailer, up to 8,000 pounds weight.

Old enough to have bought the 71 when it was new.

Use them only if you plan local trips. Any long distance might create problems. I just had problems with some old tires. Looked good always inside but after 2 longish trips both went flat.

90k miles, bought from the second owner who’s had it in storage since he bought it three years ago with plans to restore, all original, never been hacked on or modified. Has a 318 with an automatic transmission. The worse for wears paint job was done shortly after purchasing from the dealer (1978 I believe), the original owner worked as an electronics installer and this was his daily vehicle. It was originally a gold color (all of the door jams are still gold and in great shape) so my plan is to put it back to stock as far as the outer color. The interior is a bit worn but all the wood paneling is in good shape and I’ll probably keep it or use as templates to make new panels. The only real custom touch I plan to do with it is add a chin spoiler and exhaust and then do a wrap-around lounge style seating in the rear.

Original brown shag carpeting is in good shape as well, it has 4 captain chairs inside the two in back have had seat covers on them their entire life (still do) but they’re in practically mint condition underneath… two front seats are in rough shape but I have a pair of low back buckets from an A model van that match pretty good.

Yeaaah! Another one saved :)
Welcome here.

What engine/trans combo do you have?
Are you planning a stock resto or something more custom?

 Tire size question
« Result #12 Yesterday at 1:29pm »

I had 235 75 R35 good tires mounted on the narrow 15x5.5 stock rims,
it was a bit tight on the front but never had any rub issue.
Today I got them installed on 15x7 US Indy slot mags, but now have clearance issues.

My mechanic said that they the smaller 235 60 R15 tires that were on the mags are still in good condition and can be used on the front.
Couple of things are bothering me though:
• Doesn't running tires that probably are 10+ years old sounds like a really bad idea even if they looks good?
• Is 2.8" (26.1" vs 28.9") too much of of a difference between front and rear tires diameters?

Any advice is welcome. Thanks :)

P.S.:
Will probably end up with 215 75 R15 all the way round,
but right now I can't afford to ditch a good set of tires that could last a few more years. ;)

Hello. I'm interested! I've got pop-outs on a 73... are these for fixed? If so, I might be able to do double sided tape, etc... Let me know. I'm new to this forum. Just registered in order to respond. Thanks

My 71 B-300 has 5 leafs, 78 B-100 also.
I have read that HD 1 tons have 7 leaf springs.
